يعود تاريخ أكلة القريص ” القراص. الحريق ” الى البريطانيين حيث كانوا يستخدمون نبات القريص في ضرب أنفسهم؛ وذلك لأنهم كانوا يعتقدون أن ذلك يعمل على الدفء في أوقات الشتاء الباردة، وقد أدخله جنود يوليوس قيصر من رومانيا إلى بريطانيا، ومازال استخدام نبتة القريص في علاج بعض الأمراض.

من الممكن أن يتم العثور على نبات القراص بالطبيعة دون زراعته حيث إنه يوجد تقريباً في الأماكن التي تكون فيها التربة غنية بالعناصر الغذائية، والنيتروجين مع توفر رطوبة كافية.

يمكن استعماله كمضاد حيوي للعديد من الأمراض، مثل الروماتيزم، والأمراض التي تؤثر على جهازالمناعة. والنزيف أو الرعاف. الشلل، البواسير، الجروح المستعصية، والخصوبة.

طريقة عمل مغلي نبتة القراص:

تؤخذ معلقة صغيرة من نبات القريص الجافة (يتم تجفيفها في الشمس وتتم طريقتها كنفس طريقة تجفيف نبتة الملوخية، حيث تترك في الشمس لمدة لا تقل عن ستة أو سبعة أيام على الأقل).

تضاف بودرة نبات القريص. والتي تسحق أو تطحن بعد تجفيفها، إلى كوب من الماء المغلي مسبقاً. تترك لمدة لاتقل عن عشر دقائق، ثم يصفى جيداً، ويشرب، ويفضل الاستمرار على هذه الطريقة لمدة لا تقل عن أسبوع من أجل نتائج أفضل. ويُفضّل شرب شاي القريص لمدة لا تقل عن شهر كامل صباحاً قبل الإفطار بنصف ساعة في حالة ضعف العصب والدم.
